Can’t say enough how impressed I was with HomeWright Remodeling workmanship, project management and responsiveness on our home remodeling project. Every milestone was hit on time! 100% recommend.

For a non-decorator/designer, Matt made this experience easy. He and his team guided me through designing and choosing the best fixtures. The project was completed on time with minimal disruption to our lives.

My husband and I hired The Home Wright to remodel our outdated family room. We are thrilled with the results! Matt worked with us to accomplish the exact family room we had envisioned. Matt and his whole team were extremely easy to work with. Whenever we had a question or concern Matt was easy to reach. I never had to worry about our kids or dog getting into trouble while the family room was under construction. When they had completed their work for the day they always left the house clean and anything dangerous tucked away.

The project was completed right on time. Even with an unpredictable snafu like our home losing power for 24 hours due to electrical company work in our neighborhood. The electrician brought extra batteries for his tools and completed the work scheduled for that day anyway! Our beautiful new family room was also right on budget. My husband and I will had an extremely positive experience. We will call The Home Wright for any home remodel we do in the future.

We contacted Matt with The HomeWright after having a less than pleasant experience with the bidding process with another contractor, and having difficulties with a couple other projects at the house over the years. I was moved by the testimonials on his website and was interested to see if they would be true to form. I’m happy to say that we weren’t disappointed!

Matt was very up front in that he wouldn’t even be able to walk down our project for several weeks. While this was a bit discouraging, as we were anxious to move forward with the project, I respected the fact that Matt refused to spread himself too thin and that we would receive the same level of commitment if we chose to use his company for our project.
The process was very straightforward. Matt came by our house and walked us through the steps he’s implemented to ensure a successful project…from general design concept and selection of materials to payment milestones and project completion. This was comforting given our experience with previous contractors who either grossly underbid our work and continued raising the overall spend of our project or asked for a significant amount of money up front before having a quote in-hand.
We had a slight delay in the start of our project given that our first meeting with Matt was in December, just before the holidays, but come January we were up and running. Matt worked directly with us on the overall concept and renderings of the remodel and brought in his designer, Amanda, to help finalize the overall concept and lead the charge on material selections. Our house was built in the late 80’s and we have golden oak stained baseboards, casings, crown and door jambs running throughout the house. We were really concerned with remodeling the living room and having our color selections clash with the look and overall flow of the rest of the house. Amanda was great to work with and she helped us to make some hard decisions on selecting materials which would keep with the flow of the house while still providing a very fresh and updated look to our new living room.
The project took about 3-months from start to finish. That includes design, material selection, demo, and final construction. Actual “construction” took about 4-weeks. The project included complete demo of our existing built-in’s, wall covering and mantel surrounding our brick fireplace, removal of wood ceiling beams and ceiling fan, baseboards, crown and door casings. New construction involved new built-in cabinets and mantel, canned lighting, ceiling fan, re-stoning our fireplace and new hearthstone, A/V installation for placing our TV over the new fireplace, wood floors, baseboards, crown and door casings, refurbishing the nosepiece and associated steps into the living room and final paint.
Every contractor Matt brought in to work on our project was friendly, worked efficiently and showed great craftsmanship. There were no instances of down time where I felt that something could have been accomplished. When the project was complete, I noted a handful of minor details which I felt needed to be addressed and Matt was certain to follow up on each concern and ensure that we were fully pleased with the end result, and we definitely were!
Matt was hands-on throughout the entire process and paid our project a level of attention which we had never experienced with previous contractors. We’re thrilled with the transformation of our living room and will definitely use Matt and The HomeWright for our next project!

Absolutely incredible attention to detail, responsiveness and scheduling! Matt is an excellent communicator and nailed his commitments to dates. Our kitchen project started and finished on schedule and the work was completed to perfection. The results are better than we had imagined. Matt’s designer, Amanda, made some recommendations that were outside of what I originally had in mind, and they have turned out to be my favorite elements in the finished project.

Matt Wright and The HomeWright, LLC recently completed a remodeling project for my wife and I and we are extremely pleased with the experience and the finished product. We gutted and remodeled our entire kitchen, installed hardwood floors (replacing carpet), and repainted in our kitchen, dining room, hallway, and half-bathroom. It was a big project for us and Matt handled it extremely well! Working with Matt was a pleasure.

From the moment that we met Matt, he was professional, punctual, and communicative. One of the things that we really liked about him right off the bat was that he came to the table with ideas and helped us with several design issues.
Throughout the process, Matt was very well organized and kept us informed every step of the way. If anything did come up where additional work was necessary, Matt always called to have us approve the work before he started on it. He was always careful to explain the situation and give us his best recommendation. We trusted Matt entirely and were always grateful for his advice. Something that meant a lot to us was that Matt said that he treats each project as if it is a project in his own home. He exemplified that throughout the project. Also, at the beginning of our project, we were struggling to find a particular product that we really liked from Matt’s list of preferred vendors. As a result, Matt took the time to find and start a partnership with a new vendor where we could purchase exactly what we wanted. We know that Matt has strong relationships with his preferred vendors, so it meant a lot to us that he went out of his way, not using one of his preferred vendors, so that we could be completely satisfied with our kitchen.
As the work progressed, we found Matt’s subcontractors/partners to be good, honest people who respected our home. They executed the remodel plans that we had developed with Matt, and they all did an excellent job of cleaning up their messes throughout the process.
Overall, the quality of work that we received from Matt and his crew was outstanding, and we are completely satisfied with the outcome. In fact, we have already recommended Matt and The HomeWright, LLC to several people that we know.

We brought in a couple of project consultants and we interviewed them. It was a difficult process for us to make a decision because the project could go many different ways. We chose Matt because we liked our initial meeting with him, he took the time to explain his experience, his work ethics, process, and high level game plan based up on our needs. We felt like we could trust Matt from the beginning.

In addition, we read some other reference material other customers wrote about Matt that indicated he provided quality work and was on time. We felt these were our two most important qualities in a contractor because we have two little kids and we needed to stick to a tight schedule since our lives were going to be turned upside down without a kitchen for 6 weeks.
After we chose Matt, we moved into a detailed scope phase where we drilled down into more specifics. Got into a design phase & then was able to start talking dollars. We liked how his estimate was middle of the road & he would provide regular updates throughout the project on where we stood in regards to the budget based upon the decisions we made on cabinets, floors, lighting, etc…. because you can either save money by the choices you make or spend a lot more. We always knew where we stood at any given time.
Matt has a good team of vendors that have great product knowledge and you can tell they worked well together with Matt. We had an issue with the cabinet guy because his glass vendor went out of business on him without telling him. The cabinet vendor took action and was able to get in the glass from a new vendor in a reasonable amount of time.
My wife & I both work and we had Matt & his team in the house just about every day for 6 weeks and never had any issues or felt uncomfortable. I made a couple of surprise visits home during the day & everyone was always working & doing what they were supposed to be doing.
Just as promised, Matt was able to stay on schedule as planned. We only had 1 or 2 super minor follow up items past the due date but everything was up & running on the day promised; we just had to wait on 1 piece of glass for a cabinet & also had to wait on some specialized hardware for our dry bar that we ordered.
Finally, communication was great from the beginning to the end. Matt and I were communicating just about every day via email and/or phone. He quickly returned any messages I left and he made himself available on weekends if needed.
In summary, I highly recommend The HomeWright LLC.

When it was time for our summer vacation, we gave Matt our security alarm code and he was kind enough to turn our alarm on and off each day during our absence. We enjoyed our vacation much more knowing that things were secure at home and that we could trust Matt to take care of things for us.

We had been tossing around the idea of remodeling our kitchen for about a year, but when we had water damage to our hardwood floor from ice damming, we decided that there would never be a better time for the remodel. We didn’t hesitate on whom we would have complete the job. Matt Wright helped us with our basement remodel and because it went so smoothly, he was our natural choice for this job as well.
At our initial consultation, we told Matt that our overall goal was to make our kitchen seem larger. He gave us great ideas and suggestions. After finalizing our plans, we received Matt’s detailed proposal for the project. Because we had received a quote from our insurance adjustor for the repair work, we were able to confirm that Matt’s pricing was fair.
Matt gave us a detailed schedule of what was to occur each day and it was amazing how closely he stuck to that schedule. And if there was a tweak here or there in the schedule, Matt always let us know ahead of time. Communication with his clients seems to be very important to Matt. We once had an experience with a builder where after we signed the contract, we never heard from him again. After signing we only met with his supervisors and workers. This was definitely not the case with The HomeWright.
Matt was at our house checking on things at least once each day, and often, several times a day. And if we weren’t at home when Matt was there, he would follow up with a phone call, text message, or email that same day. During the kitchen remodel, Matt discovered some insulation problems with our external walls. He recommended the proper solution to the problem and had the unforeseen repairs made efficiently and economically. We were even able to stay on schedule. We are impressed with Matt’s problem-solving skills and do not feel like we were taken advantage of.
We became very comfortable with Matt and his contractors working in our home while we weren’t there. Everyone was professional, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day, which was important to us since were were living in the home during the remodel. When it was time for our summer vacation, we gave Matt our security alarm code and he was kind enough to turn our alarm on and off each day during our absence. We enjoyed our vacation much more knowing that things were secure at home and that we could trust Matt to take care of things for us. In our opinion, Matt is a very organized, reliable, and trustworthy person who pays close attention to details. We are very pleased with our kitchen remodel and home repairs. We are already thinking about a master bath remodel and we will definitely call The HomeWright LLC again.

This was our first experience with remodeling, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the process and outcome. After having interviewed four companies, we chose The HomeWright because our vision could be completed within the budget we had.

From the beginning Matt put us at ease. He gave us an itemized budget, directed us to knowledgeable people to make our product selections, and issued us a calendar of projected dates for work to be completed. As the remodel began the weather turned very cold and nasty. The crew took great care to ensure our home was protected by covering carpet and railings. Matt was on site daily to check on the work being completed, to answer any questions we had, and to inform us what would be happening the next day. If plans changed, we received phone calls and text messages to keep us informed. Communication was terrific!
The project took approximately five weeks to complete from beginning to end. Our schedules did not allow us to be at home each day while work was being completed. At one point in the remodel, we had to leave town. We never once were concerned about the security of our house. Matt relayed expectations and the workers followed them.
We now have a beautiful master bathroom. The expertise of all those who helped us choose the products used, the quality of work completed by Matt’s crew, and attention to detail he gave to our project made our first remodel a very positive experience. We are thrilled with the outcome.

I have more than 25 years experience in construction ranging from high-end residential to high rise to schools to Federal facilities. In many respects I can be the worst sort of buyer of home building because I know what I am talking about and I am very opinionated. Matt Wright came through with flying colors.

He stood up for what he thought was the correct approach when he thought that I was wrong and changed my mind on how to proceed. His knowledge of construction is exceptional and he knows how to get the best bang for the buck. When I wanted to add an inch of board insulation behind the new siding, Matt showed me how it would have a greater payback (and cost less) by adding blown-in insulation in the attic. Other contractors that I interviewed and who provided proposals were nowhere near as knowledgeable and never challenged me when I wasn’t using the best approach. I whole-heartedly recommend using The HomeWright. Though I had a bid that was about $1,000 lower (~2%), the additional cost was well worth it. Correctly reworking and salvaging existing windows alone made the cost worth it.
Our home had T-1-11 siding, which isn’t much more than pretty plywood. It was delaminating, bubbling, and rotting. We had leaks I knew of, and some Matt found, documented, proposed a fair price for, and fixed. All stable T-1-11 remained, and the bad areas were replaced with plywood. Then a housewrap was added and the Hardie planks were installed over the housewrap. All trim was done in cedar. All areas were reflashed. The rakes were extended to match the soffits. The existing shingles were removed from the roof and all soffits and gutterboards were replaced. Areas that didn’t drain well were reworked and a few rotten boards were replaced. Flashing at the chimney was done correctly for the first time in the life of the house. Everything received new paint including priming that occurred on any Hardie plank cuts, etc.
A tremendous value and a job well done. I received proposals from two firms that came recommended from friends. Each came highly recommended, but basically just priced up my ideas. I was ready to go with the lower of the two prices. Due to Chase Bank messing up the home equity loan (and Fifth-Third getting it done in 1 week), the delay resulted in my fortunately running across a lawn sign for The HomeWright while out walking the dog. I spoke with the home owner who (incorrectly) described the work performed. Not a construction guy.
Figuring that I had nothing to lose, I looked up The HomeWright’s web page and discovered that this other house had work similar to what I needed. I invited Matt over the next day and we spent several hours discussing the work required and the ideas that I had. Matt sometimes agreed and sometimes didn’t, but he always had good reasons when he didn’t. He talked me out of the insulation board, which was a bad idea. When the price came in between the other two bids, and barely above the low bid, I knew I had my contractor. Work started late last year, but we knew in advance that the painting would likely have to await the spring. Matt always called with progress updates and to see if we had concerns. When a hidden condition, like areas of rot, was discovered, the proposed solution was good and the price was right. Gouging on extras is some contractor’s lifeblood — no Matt’s. He was fair in all cases, even telling me on some of my requests that he had included it all along because it was the right approach. When work was completed this spring we were ecstatic. Our neighbors are quite pleased too as the house was pretty beaten up looking. During the winter we added some indoor work which also went very well. Aside from the updates and fair pricing, perhaps the best thing was that the workers arrived when Matt said they would and they stayed until the job was done. This guy knows what he is doing.

This was a 2 month project. Work was done in a timely manner. We kept adding additional work and Matt didn’t have a problem with it. We had our kitchen gutted, our floors replaced in 2 rooms and all the floors in the house were re-finished. We had all our textured ceilings removed, all the rooms painted, including closets.

Matt had to figure out a way we could open up our kitchen. He removed the wall and put a beam up. All the lighting in the kitchen and living room were replaced/upgraded. In the kitchen we replaced everything, cabinets, counter tops, tiles, all appliances, lighting, floor. We thought Matt and all his contractors were responsive, professional and friendly. We felt comfortable talking with all of them and asking questions. Matt always kept us update on things and had a calendar of who was coming that day. We are very happy with everything and already have another project we would like him to do. 🙂

This was not our first remodel and so we were expecting the usual– delays, project planning mishaps, budget overages–we’ve all been there, right. NOT with Matt and The HomeWright! His level of detail and professionalism is unmatched and we are so pleased with the results. Living without a bathroom can be stressful enough but living without one longer than planned is torture, thankfully Matt had it planned to the hour and even beat the schedule by a day. All of the guys who worked on the house were top notch and so kind and polite. The house looks amazing and we are so happy with the results. Thank you Matt.

Just completed our fifth project (master bathroom remodel) with Matt and The Homewright, LLC. Matt is our “go to” for remodeling work – professional, timely, excellent design team and installation crew and truly a great partner for projects. I have referred him to a number of friends because if I am happy with his work, I know others will be happy as well.

This is the third major project we’ve completed using Matt Wright and The Homewright LLC. Matt is our “go to” for any remodeling project and we’ve referred him to friends and they’ve also been very pleased with his work.
When we decided to go forward with for our kitchen remodel, we met with Matt and discussed options. We basically gutted the kitchen and started over. Given some space considerations, we used our original footprint but totally modernized the space. We love it!
Since we’ve worked with Matt previously, we’re very comfortable with his vendors and subs. Matt knew our budget and schedule requirements. Matt is a truly a professional and we feel an anomaly in the construction industry because he is realistic about the schedule and his people keep to the schedule – we’ve never had an issue. I would not hesitate to work with Matt again (we’re already thinking about the 4th project) or recommend him to our friends and colleagues.

We are so happy with the job done by Matt and his crews at the HomeWright. We had our 1985 master bath remodeled, as well as taking a wall down to a partial wall between kitchen and living room. Probably the top qualities of the company are communication and punctuality. Our project involved detailed and prompt communication throughout the process, from the initial contact, to ballpark estimate, to contracting and full design, selections, and execution.

He was completely up front about where we were in the “que” (we waited about 4 months for the start), but when they started, each part of the project was completed exactly on the schedule we were given. The ballpark estimate was also pretty darn close to the final number. Crews were onsite doing something every weekday, from beginning to end, regardless of whether we were home. I was not expecting a perfect timeline personally, so that was a pleasant surprise. They also worked with us around our budget and making the most of less expensive material selections. He has vendors that he works with regularly and sends specs and budget to them in advance of your appointments. I did some appointments in like 5 minutes. His designer, Amanda, meets you at the appointments and helps with selections. Everything is beautiful and we are so happy with the final product(s). Our bath is incredible. We also had a slight issue with a broken mirror, but it was fixed expeditiously. He also includes generous guarantees in the contracts for his work. This is not cheapo bidder who disappears on you, leaving crappo work behind.

This is the second time we have used Matt and his crew for remodeling and it went very smoothly, again. The process, attention to detail, and quality of work are fantastic. Remodeled both of our full bathrooms (one right after the other) as well as our laundry room.

Matt consults with you to create a design, establish a budget and expectations on timing (literally by providing a calendar of what will take place from start to finish and everything in between…and sticks to it). He stays in constant communication with you through the project to touch base to make sure things going as we planned. He is at the house to be sure contractors and employees are on the same page as to what is expected before work begins each day and then double checks to make sure the work was to our satisfaction (usually catching anything that may need to be touched up before we mentioned it). We felt comfortable having Matt and his crew in the house while we were not home and, in fact, after school ended and summer break began, our teenage girls were home and we were comfortable with them being home while work continued. The project went smoothly and was completed to our satisfaction. Everything looks great and we are very happy with the project.
